Your clearest view of Triumph’s smallest offering yet

The Bajaj-Triumph bike has been spied testing, once again, and for the first  time in India. The motorcycle has elements of the Triumph Street Twin at first glance. It looks sharp and attractive, with its LED headlight, USD fork, flat handlebar, one-piece seat and sleek taillight, giving it a proper neo retro look.

The handguards, small visor, bash plate, braced handlebar, upswept exhaust  and dual-purpose tyres on the test mule indicate towards this being the scrambler variant, something that was spotted testing abroad earlier this year. It also has a tank bag, tail bag and bag mounted onto the side, meaning that it could be offered with a bunch of accessories to make it touring-friendly, however, going by the spy shots, tank bag seems to be packing some testing equipment. Interestingly, this test mule didn’t feature an ADV-like beak, something that the bike spotted in Europe did.

As for its engine, it’s likely to be a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, sub-500cc mill that should make about 35-38PS. Underpinnings, as to be seen, are an inverted fork and a gas-charged monoshock.. The test mule is seen running alloy wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres and gets disc brakes which look similar to the current-gen Dukes.

The fact that the bike has been spied without camouflage in India means it is closer to  production and we think it very well could be launched in the first half of 2023. A cost of around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom) is expected for the scrambler. Once here, it’ll rival the Royal Enfield Scram 411, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Yezdi Scrambler.
