Bajaj CT 100 Records 1.5 lac unit Sales in just 100 Days

Bajaj CT 100- the most affordable motorcycle available in India has claimed to record a sales of 1.5 lac units in just 100 days. It means that the company managed to sold it with an average of around 50,000 units per month or 1,500 units per day. It is really a big number to achieve and this became possible because of its attractive features at best-in-class price.

So, can we believe that the Bajaj CT 100 has became the best selling entry-level 100cc bike in India? No, it has defeated most of the offerings in the respective segment like TVS Star City, Sport, Honda Dream series and more. However, the segment leader is still Hero MotoCorp HF-Deluxe with an average sales figure of around 80,000 units per month.

If we compare features and specifications of the Bajaj CT 100 and Hero HF-Deluxe, both are almost similar motorcycles. In fact, there is a good price difference in them, CT 100 has a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 35,034 (Delhi) and base model of the HF-Deluxe is more than Rs. 5,300 costlier. However, the top reasons contributing to the numbers are brand value and trust of the customers.

Bajaj Auto is doing better than many other two-wheeler brands in India, even without any offering in the fastest growing automatic scooter segment. However, the company is continuously recording a negative sales growth. Not only the overall sales figure, but the independent sales of the commuters like Platina and Discover series has also dropped. Although, Bajaj is a very established brand in the country, it still needs to regain its lost glory in the mass segment, like it has in the 150cc and upper-class segments. And more products like the CT 100 could be the key to this success.
