Ather’s Dot Is The New Way To Charge Your Ather Electric Scooters

The home charging point is available in Bengaluru and Chennai for now

• Dot can be installed for Rs 1,800. 
• It takes more than 5 hours to charge the scooters via the Dot. 
• Both the scooters are now around Rs 9,000 more affordable than before. 

Ather Energy has introduced a home charging point called the Dot, which can be used to charge your Ather 340 and 450. The charging point can be installed for a sum of Rs 1800, which includes standard installation charges, different consumables, labour charges, and more. It also comes with an instruction manual, if someone wants to install the charger on their own.

However, don’t expect the same charging speed that you’d get from an Ather Grid. Via the Dot, the electric scooters will be 100 per cent charged in 5 hours and 15 mins (company claimed). Ather says they’ve seen the charging patterns of their scooters in Bengaluru and most of the customers either charger their scooters overnight or during the day when the scooters are parked in a parking spot. 

As of now, Ather has introduced the Dot in Bengaluru and Chennai. However, the company is now currently planning to expand its network and Pune could be on its list next. After the reduction in GST and the introduction of FAME II benefits, both the scooters are now affordable by nearly Rs 9,000.
