Ather Electric has launched the 450 and 340. The Ather 340 has a narrow and minimalistic design with LED lighting all around. This is one of the most technologically advanced scooter available in the market today. Its 7-inch touchscreen display gets an in-built GSM connection. This internet connectivity powers Ather’s own navigation interface. It also collects the scooter’s vital statistics using data from 46 sensors on the scooter including a 6-axis IMU. This data is sent via cloud computing to Ather who studies your ride and usage pattern and develop an algorithm for optimal usage. It also receives software updates remotely sent by Ather.
It's BDLC electric motor generates 2.8 Kw of sustained power (4 Kw peak) and 20Nm of torque. Ather claims the 340 can accelerate to 40kmph in 5.1 seconds, reach a top speed of 80kmph and climb 15-degree steep gradients. The lithium battery pack is rated at 1.92KWh which delivers an ARAI claimed range of 86km. Ather meanwhile says that under real-world conditions the 340 should deliver 60km in economy mode and 50km in power mode. The 340 weighs 118 kilos. Suspension bits include telescopic front forks and a centrally mounted monoshock. Braking includes a 200mm front disc and a 190mm rear disc with combined braking system as standard fitment.
The Ather 340 competes with the Okinawa Praise and Twenty Twenty Motor Flow.
