Ather Energy’s monthly update is here and the numbers look good for the Bangalore based EV maker. In the month of May it recorded a sale of 3,787 units, setting an all new high for the brand’s sales in the country.
Last month it sold 3,779 units of its 450X and 450 Plus scooters. Although that’s just eight scooters less than this month, reflecting a steady growth. In the same month it also announced its Series E round funding of USD 128(approximately Rs 995 crore). The funding will be led by NIIF (National Investment and Infrastructure Fund) and Hero MotoCorp. Commenting on the fresh funding round Tarun Mehta, CEO at Ather Energy said, this round of funds will be directed towards improving Ather’s platforms and technology.
On a more ground level, Ather has also announced a partnership with Magenta ChargeGrid. Seen as a strategic move for it to accelerate and expand its public charging network while encouraging more buyers to commit to EVs. It is also looking to expand its retail network in Kerala right after inaugurating a network across four cities- Thrissur, Kannur and Palakkad in Kerala and Kolhapur in Maharashtra.
