The new model promises better performance and features along with superior connectivity

  • The 450X is expected to get better range and top speed compared to the standard model.
  • The scooter is likely to get new colours as well.
  • Ather will expand its reach in eight new cities in 2020.

Bengaluru-based startup Ather Energy has shared a teaser video announcing the 450X will be officially launched on January 28, 2020. The ‘X’ model is expected to offer better performance, superior connectivity, and more features compared to the standard model.

Expect the Ather 450X to offer slightly better range and top speed compared to the standard model. The base model, for instance, delivers 75km per charge in Eco mode at 55kmph. You could even push the scooter to its top speed of 80kmph, but that would entail compromising on the range (55km). This might not be an issue with the 450X. While the specs haven't been revealed as yet, we can expect a slightly better package than the standard Ather 450, which is powered by a 5.4kW motor and 2.4kWh battery.

The Ather 450 already comes with a truckload of features like rider modes, reverse mode, a full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. We believe the 450X will step things up even further. That said, the two scooters look identical to each other in terms of design. So, how exactly do you tell them apart? Quite easy actually. The Ather 450X will feature different liveries in shades including yellow, blue and red.

Ather also intends to expand its reach by adding eight to cities to its list in 2020. The first few to make the list include Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Coimbatore. This will eventually be followed by Kochi, Coimbatore, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.
