Ather Energy has released a new OTA update for its electric scooters, the Ather 450X and the Ather 450 Plus, and as a part of the new update, the two e-scooters now get a new riding mode: SmartEco. The company says this mode aims to offer a good balance of range and performance.
The update will be available tothose who have the Ather Connect Pro subscription, which costs Rs 700 for a quarter. Users will have to open the Ather Labs feature in the app and can download the update.
With the new SmartEco mode, the algorithm measures several parameters including the terrain, riding style, passenger weight, and adjusts the acceleration dynamically. As per Ather Energy, the probability of achieving TrueRange (Ather’s term for claimed real-world range) is highest when ridden solo, completely under SmartEco mode for at least 10km. Once the mode is activated, a power bar appears in the display, which turns blue when there’s sufficient power on tap, and red when there isn’t, thus alerting the rider to go easy on the throttle.
With the new mode, the Ather 450X will have five riding modes: Eco, SmartEco, Ride, Sports and the bonkers Warp. The new mode essentially serves as a middle ground between the Eco and the Ride mode.
