Set to be launched in May, the Storm 125 will be more affordable than the SR 125

(Update: Aprilia Storm 125 Launched In India At Rs 65,000)

  • Bookings have already begun at the dealer level.
  • Aprilia will launch the scooter next month.
  • The Storm 125 shares its underpinnings with the SR 125.

As per our sources, Aprilia will launch the Storm 125 in India next month and it will be priced at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Customers can book their Storm 125 by paying a token amount of Rs 1,000.

The Aprilia Storm 125 was showcased alongside the SR 125, Tuono 150 and the RS4 150 at the 2018 Auto Expo. It is powered by the same 125cc, single-cylinder motor as seen on the SR 125. The motor produces 9.6PS of power and 9.9Nm of torque. Suspension duties are taken care of by 30mm telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock.

The brake setup remains the same as the SR 125 - 220mm disc at the front and a 140mm drum at the rear. The Storm 125 will be equipped with CBS to comply with new safety norms that came into effect on April 1. However, the major change between the SR 125 and the Storm 125 is the tyre size. The Storm 125 gets 12-inch dual-purpose tyres at both ends whereas the SR 125 gets 14-inch wheels shod with 120/70-front and 120/70-rear tubeless tyres.

At the expo, Aprilia had showcased two paint options for the Storm 125 - matte red and matte yellow. However, expect Aprilia to also offer the scooter in black. The Storm 125 will lock horns with the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Honda Grazia.
