All-new Benelli TNT 600 Spotted For The First Time, Could Be BS6 Compliant

The naked motorcycle has received its biggest design overhaul since its launch

The naked motorcycle has received its biggest design overhaul since its launch

  • The new Benelli TNT 600 looks sleeker than the current model.
  • The underseat exhaust system has been repositioned.
  • It features a new digital instrument cluster and a single-piece seat setup.

It's been a while since we have seen the Benelli TNT 600 getting a major update. However, it seems like Benelli was working towards making the bike compliant with upcoming emission norms, be it for India or globally, all this time. And there are now a couple of spy shots to supplement this claim. The naked motorcycle was spotted in China for the first time and from the looks of it, Benelli has done some serious changes to its mid-capacity naked.

On the design front, Benelli has completely changed the way the TNT 600 looks. It features a new headlamp unit and a redesigned fuel tank which looks a bit sleeker compared to the current-gen motorcycle’s fuel tank. Another major change includes the repositioned exhaust system: the underseat end cans have made way for a side-slung unit. The split seat setup seen on the current model has been replaced by a single-piece unit as well. The spy shots have also revealed that the updated TNT 600 will get a brand new, fully digital instrument cluster.

Barring the visual changes mentioned above, we don’t think that the new Benelli TNT 600 will get any major mechanical updates. In the current model, the 600cc inline four-cylinder produces 86PS at 11,500rpm and 54.6Nm at 10,500rpm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Given that the exhaust has been moved, we reckon the upcoming motorcycle will comply with the new European and BS6 emission norms. The suspension setup as well as the braking hardware seems to be similar to the current TNT 600.

As this is the first time we have seen the new TNT 600 in flesh, it’s likely that Benelli might still be tweaking the motorcycle for the final touch. We expect the company to unveil the motorcycle at the upcoming EICMA, followed by India launch soon after that.
