3 Motorcycles Discontinued From Hero Lineup

Implementation of BS-IV norms forces Hero to silently discontinue the Splendor Pro Classic, Splendor i-Smart 100 and HF Dawn

Hero has silently withdrawn three motorcycles from the Indian market. The motorcycles include the Splendor Pro Classic, Splendor i-Smart and HF Dawn. According to our sources, the three motorcycles were not updated with BS-IV engines owing to low sales volumes. However, Hero continued to sell the three motorcycles till April 1, 2017 to clear existing BS-III itinerary. The Splendor Pro Classic, Splendor i-Smart and HF Dawn were priced at Rs 51,405, Rs 51,910 and Rs 39,700 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

All three motorcycles were powered by a 97.2cc engine which produced 8.36PS of power at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 5000rpm. The single-seat Splendor Pro Classic was distinct for being the most affordable cafe racer in the market. The Splendor iSmart 100 was equipped with Hero’s i3S engine start-stop technology and was claimed to offer better fuel efficiency than regular 100cc bikes in the market. If you are looking for an efficient bike from Hero, your next best bet would be the Splendor iSmart 110 with a slightly more powerful engine.

While the HF Dawn was the most affordable bike from Hero’s stables, customers can still opt for the HF Deluxe which offers more equipment and is also available with the engine start-stop technology. In the 100cc segment, Hero has retained the standard Splendor and the Passion range of bikes as they now meet BS-IV norms and also come with Always Headlamp On (AHO) feature. The bike maker hiked the prices of their bikes, effective from May 1, in the range of Rs 500 to Rs 2200 to offset the increase in commodity costs.
