2025 Yamaha MT 15 Launched With A New Colour Option

We have something similar in India - the Ice Fluo-Vermillion, which looks better in our opinion

Quick News Highlights:

  • 2025 Yamaha MT 15 launched in Malaysia

  • Gets one new colour option

  • Remains mechanically unchanged

Yamaha has officially launched the 2025 MT 15 in Malaysia, introducing a fresh new colour option while keeping the price the same as the previous model at RM 12,498 (Rs 2,43,188).

Updates

The only update for the 2025 MT 15 comes in the form of cosmetics - the addition of the Ice Storm colourway. It gets Ice Blue highlights on the fuel tank and subframe, while the wheels come painted in this colour. This paint shade joins the existing Midnight Black colour scheme currently available in Malaysia.

Indian Vs Malaysian-Spec Differences

It continues to be powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) - shared with the R15 V4 and Aerox. It produces 19.3PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.7Nm at 8,500 rpm in the Malaysian-spec bike - the Indian version makes 0.9PS and 0.6Nm less. It gets a deltabox frame suspended by a gold colour 37mm inverted fork and a preload adjustable linked monoshock. Braking is handled by a 282mm front and 240mm rear disc brake (Indian bike gets a 220mm). The 17-inch wheels are wrapped in a 110-section (100 in India) tyre at the front and a 140 at the rear. The seat height is 810mm, ground clearance is 155mm (170mm for India), kerb weight is 133kg (141kg here), and the fuel tank capacity is 10-litres.

Features

The bike comes equipped with all LED lights, and a negatively-lit fully digital console with gear position indicator and shift light, real time mileage, and Bluetooth connectivity with call, SMS, email alerts. Notably, it misses out on turn-by-turn navigation on both the Indian and Malaysian versions. Dual-channel ABS, traction control, a hazard light switch and side stand engine cut-off are part of standard safety features. Although in India, the Metallic Black and Dark Matte Blue colour options do not get LED indicators and the hazard light switch.

BikeDekho Says

The 2025 Yamaha MT 15 is largely similar to the 2024 model, with no mechanical or feature updates whatsoever. Even with the new colour, the Malaysian-spec bike has very few colour options as compared to the Indian bike which is available in eight shades.

As a daily commuter I love this bike

I chose this bike because of its good mileage, performance, and its aggressive look, which grabs a lot of attention by the way.,also, I ride 60 km daily to college, so I needed a bike that delivers better power, good mileage, and a good posture for my daily rides, that's why I chose the MT15. 1)Performance is Actually very good, the highs and lows are pretty good and fun to drive, but the mids are not that good ,sometimes i Feel a lack of power in the mids while overtaking in Kerala roads (hilly roads) 2) The mileage is very good,I am an aggressive rider and i get a mileage of about 40-43 and but if i ride below 7500 rpm i got a mileage of 45 above (actually i got(53)one time. 3)The Styles are very good an aggressive but the parts like the mirrors, the switches and the indicators are not that good as it is a premium bike they should have gave a good mirrors and switches 4)The service cost is cheap I think the last service cost was 1200 5)The main problem is with the pillion seat, the seat is smaller which makes the pillion.uncomfortable and the rider as well, also if there is a pillion the bikes lacks power, you can literally feel that 6)The handling is very very good actually ,its nimble and for city ride it is a perfect option also the leaning angle is pretty good 7) Sound is also good and not that loud but if you are on higher rpms it makes you feel like riding a sporty bike Yeah I would recommend this bike if you are a city rider who wants power as well as mileage and a good reliability, but if you have a pillion for a daily ride,it can cause some problems like lack of power and uncomfortable seating, and as i am college student i would recommend this bike for the college students who have a tight budget and needs a bike with a good mileage and looksRead More

Best mix of style comfort and performance

I chose the Yamaha MT 15 because of its bold streetfighter look and strong performance. It has a powerful engine with good mileage for daily rides. The upright seating is comfortable for city traffic and short highway trips. It also feels light and easy to handle. The ride has been smooth and fun. The pickup is quick and the handling feels very sharp. It stays stable even at higher speeds and the braking gives good confidence. The suspension is firm but works well on most roads. It feels perfect for both daily use and weekend rides. Yes I would recommend the MT 15 to anyone who wants a sporty and practical bike. It suits college students and working people who want style comfort and performance together. It gives good mileage and has a strong road presence in its segment.Read More
