2025 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS Launched Globally, India Launch Soon

Triumph has launched the updated Speed Triple 1200 RS internationally, bringing more power, new features, and a small increase in weight compared to the outgoing model. In the UK, the new model has been priced at GBP 17,495 (approx Rs 19 lakh), an increase of GBP 1,700 (approx Rs 1.80 lakh) over the older model. Triumph Motorcycles India has teased the bike on its social media handle.

Design

The Speed Triple 1200 RS, the flagship streetfighter from Triumph, maintains its aggressive styling. While the overall design remains familiar, it is available in three new colour options: Jet Black, Granite with Red, and Granite with Yellow graphics.

Engine

The Speed Triple 1200 continues to be powered by a 1,160cc, liquid-cooled, in-line three-cylinder engine. Triumph has made tweaks to extract an additional 3PS and 3Nm, bringing the total output to 183PS at 10,750rpm and 128Nm at 8,750rpm. The torque also arrives 250rpm earlier than before, and is partially due to a new, freer-flowing exhaust system.

Underpinnings

A significant update to the new Triple is the introduction of Öhlins’ latest third-generation SmartEC3 semi-active suspension, which was also seen on the Speed Triple 1200 RR. This system actively adjusts damping settings for the 43mm inverted fork and monoshock based on road conditions. The suspension now offers seven levels of adjustability. An adjustable steering damper has also been added. In terms of weight, the bike now weighs 199kg kerb, which is 1kg more than before. This slight increase is due to the Euro5+ emissions regulations, as well as the new semi-active suspension. The bike retains its 120-section front and 190-section rear tyre setup.

Features

The 2025 model now features wheelie control adjustability, independent of the traction control settings. The bike’s electronics suite also continues to include cornering ABS, traction control, and multiple ride modes. A keyless ignition system is standard, along with a 5-inch TFT display that supports smartphone connectivity for navigation, music, and phone alerts.

Pricing

Since Triumph Motorcycles India has officially teased the bike on its social media handle, we expect the new Speed Triple 1200 RS to be launched here in the next few weeks.. The outgoing model is priced in India at Rs 17.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and the new model will likely get a price hike over this. Its rivals are the Aprilia Tuono V4, the BMW S 1000 R, the Ducati Streetfighter V4, the Kawasaki Z H2, and the KTM 1390 Super Duke R.
