Bajaj Auto recently launched a new Single Seat, Dual-Channel ABS variant of the Pulsar N160 at Rs 1,25,722 (ex-showroom Delhi). This variant is the most affordable bike in India with dual-channel ABS. It co-exists with three other variants, and we explain in detail how they differ from each other:
What’s Same For All?
All variants of the Bajaj Pulsar N160 are powered by a 164.2cc, single cylinder, air-and-oil cooled engine. It makes 16PS at 8,750rpm, 14.65Nm at 6,750rpm, and mated to a five-speed gearbox. Other shared components across all variants include the chassis, rear monoshock, 14-litre fuel tank, 795mm seat height, 165mm ground clearance, single piece handlebar, 300mm front disc brake, 17-inch wheels with tubeless tyres (100-section front, 130 rear), LED projector headlight, signature Pulsar twin strip LED tail light, USB charging port, Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, and of course - the design.
Single Seat, Single-Channel ABS
This is the base variant of this Bajaj Pulsar bike and also the most affordable one, priced at Rs 1,22,720 (ex-showroom Delhi). It gets a single-piece seat and features single-channel ABS. This variant is ideal for those who prioritize an affordable price point without needing too many extras, and want the single-piece seat for added convenience and comfort.
Single Seat, Dual-Channel ABS
This is the newest variant of this Pulsar N series bike and a more premium take on the base variant, priced at Rs 1,25,722 (ex-showroom Delhi). It carries forward the same single-piece seat but now adds the safety of dual-channel ABS and upgrades to a 280mm rear disc (up from 230mm). For a modest price premium of Rs 3,002 - this variant strikes a great balance between affordability, comfort, and safety. Dual-channel ABS prevents both front and rear wheels from locking up under hard braking. This is a lot safer than single-channel ABS as that one prevents only the front wheel from locking.
Split Seat, Dual-Channel ABS
Moving up, this now mid-spec variant of this Bajaj Bike is priced at Rs 1,26,669 (ex-showroom Delhi), and it has a split-seat setup that gives it a sportier appearance. This seat goes well with the sporty design lines of the bike, and will appeal to the youth. It’s just Rs 947 over the previous variant.
Inverted Fork
This is the most expensive variant and is priced at Rs 1,36,992 (ex-showroom Delhi). It stands out with its gold colour inverted fork - giving it a premium look. It is the most feature-packed variant as well with turn-by-turn navigation and 3 ABS modes: Road, Rain, Off-road. However, all these fancy features also come at a price - Rs 10,323 to be exact. This makes sense only for those who want a 160cc streetfighter that not only looks premium but is also loaded with features.
