Yamaha's new ADV can run on gasoline, ethanol or both

Yamaha has launched its affordable adventure motorcycle, the Crosser 150 ABS, in Brazil. The adventure bike is available in two variants (150S and 150Z) and four colour options: Black Eclipse, Sports White, Competition Blue and Dakar Sand. The Crosser 150 ABS is priced at R$ 15,590 (around Rs 2.09 lakh) and R$ 15,790 (around Rs 2.12 lakh) for the 150S and 150Z respectively.

In terms of the design, the motorcycle gets a tall, sharp and rugged stance thanks to its sharp beak upfront, tank extensions and spoke wheels.

On the features front, it is offered with limited features such as a single-piece step-up seat, halogen lights, a height-adjustable handlebar, and a single-channel ABS.

Powering the Yamaha Crosser 150 ABS is a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that churns out 12.36PS and 12.74Nm. The speciality of this engine is the fact that it can run on different types of fuel such as petrol, ethanol or both, which further makes it more fuel-efficient. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission.

The ride of the adventure bike is taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. For braking, it employs a 245mm disc up front and a 203mm disc at the rear assisted by single-channel ABS.

The Yamaha Crosser 150 ABS rides on a 19/17-inch wheel setup that is wrapped in Metzeler Tourance tyres. It's unlikely that Yamaha has any plans to bring the Crosser 150 in India. However, given the fact that the ADV segment is witnessing growth in sales we are hopeful to see an ADV offering from the Japanese giant in the future.
