A 250cc neo-retro bike with a clean engine and enough hardware to thrill

Japan’s automotive industry is undergoing a transition. It will soon fully adopt the Reiwa 2 emission regulation which is on par with Euro 5 or our BS6. Keeping this transition in mind Honda has been updating its lineup. While the iconic inline-four CB400 Super Four and Super Bol d’Or got a final goodbye edition, it’s also given the younger CB250R a bunch of cool hardware that makes us very jealous.

The Honda CB250R features a 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. With 27PS and 23Nm at your disposal and a kerb weight of just 145kg, this motorcycle is already a firecracker. Honda will now not only offer this in a clean Euro 5(BS6) compliant avatar but also throw in a big piston and separate function front fork from Showa. To make matters more exciting, it will also feature a new slip and assist clutch and a gear indicator.

Unfortunately, India might not get this 250cc pocket rocket as some models are simply for ‘Japan only’. That said, if some kind hearted soul at Honda is reading this, we’ll welcome the hardware from Showa with arms wide open for the CB300R.
