Let’s see which 160cc bike comes out on top

Hero MotoCorp launched the 2022 iteration of the Xtreme 160R and gave it minor updates. As Hero has loaded it with a couple of more features, let’s see how two other bikes in the segment fare against it.

As the table suggests, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is still the segment-leader when it comes to features.  That said, we wish TVS had equipped the streetfighter with dual-channel ABS, at least as an option. Of the three, the Hero Xtreme 160R comes in second place. While it does have features like LED lighting, digital console and USB charging, we wish Hero had given it connectivity features and turn-by-turn navigation, which would’ve given more convenience-oriented features for everyday usage.

The Bajaj Pulsar N160 comes last when it comes to features. While it does boast of a segment-first dual-channel ABS, it doesn’t have anything else that it can flaunt. The instrument cluster is the same as the one seen on the Pulsar N250. You get a dated semi-digital console, with the analogue pod housing the tachometer, whereas the LCD screen packs the speedometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, gear position indicator, and time. Talking about features, the other bike in the segment, the Suzuki Gixxer, has not been given many of them. The bike just gets an LED headlamp, tail lamp, digital console and a single-channel ABS.
In related news, the Pulsar series recorded a fantastic growth in Month-on-Month sales in June 2022. Here’s how many two-wheelers Bajaj sold last month.
