Hero Motocorp has finally showcased the Rally Edition of the XPulse 200 4V at an owner’s off-roading event in Coimbatore. While the bike is based on the newest XPulse 200 4V iteration, there are some distinct upgrades to the bike.
Starting with the design, it looks more or less like the current XPulse itself but has ditched the high heels for stilettos. The graphics also are more in tune with Hero’s rally team colours. What is a bit surprising but should bode well for amateur off-roaders is the absence of the tall flat rally seat. This unit in particular increases the seat height by a solid 35-40mm, which would be quite daunting for inexperienced riders.
A type-approval document that was leaked last month, revealed that the Rally Edition is mechanically unchanged, still making 19.1PS from its 199.6cc single-cylinder, four-valve air-and-coil cooled motor. While the torque figures haven’t been revealed, more likely than not, it’ll make the same 17.35 Nm as the standard bike.
It also showed that the Rally Edition will be a much bigger bike with a 1,427mm wheelbase and a length of 2,255mm. To give you context, the XPulse 200 4V has a wheelbase of 1410mm and is 2222mm long.
This is likely to take place as the bike gets more suspension travel, which would seem to account for the increased wheelbase.
While we don’t have any details about its launch yet, we expect the variant to be launched sometime later this year. The XPulse 200 4V retails at Rs 1,35,978 (ex-showroom Delhi), with the Rally Kit costing an additional Rs 46,000. So we expect that this Rally Edition will carry a small premium over the cost of the XPulse 4V with the Rally Kit installed, around Rs 1.80 lakh.

- comfortable for off road and cityI’ve been using this bike for the last 3 years, and overall, I’m very happy with it. It’s a great choice for both city rides and off-roading. The mileage and maintenance costs are good, and the suspension is excellent for potholes and rough Indian roads. The main drawbacks are engine heating during hilly rides and some fatigue on rides over 200 km in a day. Overall, a comfortable, reliable, and capable off-road bike. - Best in the segment.Fabulous bike for people who commutes daily and also for long rides. This bike goes everywhere, does everything. Great mileage, works great on highways and off roads. Top speed of this bike is 130 kmph. Comfortable to ride, easy to handle in traffic. This bike have all good features. Must buy and comes under budget also. ABS also works like a charm of this bike. - Hero x pulse 200 4V review after 22000 kmsI am five eleven and it suits me for my height. Comfort of a rider not a pillion and mileage is a plus for this bike. Maintenance cost is also very good and cheap you can get service done from any of the authorised hero service centres. I have been driving since almost twenty two thousand kilometres so far and im fully satisfied with the performance of this bike. I just changed chain socket and fuel motor in the fuel tank. Ride comfort is very good for rider not for pillion thats only negative. Yes I would definitely recommend this bike to those who have height above five eight. - Best choice for Bad Roads and Daily Use.I chose Hero Xpulse 200 4V for its comfort on bad roads while still being easy to ride daily. The suspension works great on potholes, the engine is smooth for city rides, and maintenance stays affordable. Ride quality has been comfortable so far, especially on rough roads. Mileage is decent for daily use, handling feels light and confident, and while top speed isn't aggressive it's stable and relaxed at cruising speeds. Yess -- I'd recommend it for daily riders who want comfort on rough roads, easy handling in traffic, good mileage and reliable performance.
