A new video teases the 2017 model - gives a peek into the new features

Triumph UK has tweeted a teaser video along with the announcement to expect a new generation bike which we are certain, is the new Street Triple and it is launching next month on January 10.

The teaser video shows what seems to be the Triumph’s new middleweight naked going by the overall silhouette of the bike. Closer inspection reveals the bike running Brembo radial calipers. The instrument cluster is now completely digital with a high definition TFT screen that gets dynamic display that changes the layout when you start the bike. The instrument cluster has a bar graph type rev counter flanking both sides with a large speedometer display and a gear position indicator below. The comprehensive instrument cluster houses fuel gauge, ambient temperature and rider modes.

There were spy pics released earlier this year that had an undisguised test mule that carried headlamps similar to the Speed Triple. Now the previous generation Speed and Street Triple had identical bug eyed headlamps, a tradition which will possibly be carried over on the 2017 models.
The big news remains the shift to a larger capacity powerplant, most likely to displace above 750cc. This was apparently revealed in a market survey conducted earlier this year. The survey proposed four versions of the upcoming motorcycle, dubbed the Street Triple 765.

Triumph’s market survey also shed light on what could be four variants of the Street Triple. Sources indicate a base 112PS base variant with Kayaba USD forks and Nissin brakes and a 117PS R version with adjustable Showa USD forks and Nissin Monobloc radial callipers. There might be a RT touring version on offer with a half fairing and 127PS of power with adjustable Showa USD forks and Nissin Monobloc radial callipers. A RS version might be on the cards as well that will have 127PS of power, fully-adjustable Ohlins all round and Brembo Monoblocs. All bikes get switchable traction control and ABS as standard while the RS version gets Lean angle sensing TC and Track ABS. Baring the base model, the other two bikes gets 3 riding modes, while the RS gets 5 riding modes including a track mode. The base model gets a basic TFT screen while the other three gets the high definition TFT screen shown in the teaser video.

What remains to be seen is the engine displacement, Triumph’s Tiger 800 also uses a Street Triple 675 derived engine which was launched in an extensively overhauled and more sophisticated form in 2015. Using the powerplant from the Tiger 800 would make a lot of economic sense for Triumph. However, Triumph would have weighed their decision carefully as the Street Triple is one of the most popular motorcycles in the Triumph lineup and has to uphold its street cred for years to come.

The new Street Triple is expected to come to India sometime next year and when it does, it will go up against the Ducati Monster 821, Yamaha MT-09 and Kawasaki’s soon to be launched Z900.

      A perfect bike for
Great bike, comfortable to ride on but the mileage is little bit of a problem,it’s a good mid range sport bike and better than their competitors in providing the features and accessories.A good bike for mid class people who want to experience a sporty essence Maintainance is a hustle and leaving all these aside overall the bike is built to perfection.
