2016 Yamaha R3 May Get New Colour Schemes Like Indonesian R25

Yamaha Motor Indonesia has released new paint schemes for the 2016 YZF-R25, which may also be made available for the 2016 YZF-R3 in India. The new colour schemes include Grey with Black graphics, dual tone White-Red, and a special new Yamaha R1-inspired Silver-Blue.

It is a not new for Yamaha Motor India to attract the customers with visual updates of its existing products. The company has already tried this many times with its other products such as the FZ series as well as the YZF-R15, and the trick has proved successful every time.

Yamaha R3 is already doing well in the market and it has also won the title of Indian Motorcycle Of The Year (IMOTY) 2016 recently. It seems that the new paint options will further help the company to lure more premium motorcycle buyers. The R3 is a fully faired supersport styled motorcycle that has been designed for touring. However, you can take this machine to the track days as well. The astonishing look of the motorcycle makes it a strong competitor in the quarter-litre segment and that is the reason of its success even with a price tag of Rs. 3.26 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Propelling the R3 is a 321cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that has been tuned to make 41.4bhp of maximum power at 10,750rpm and a peak torque of 29.6Nm at 9,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission via a wet multi-plate type clutch assembly and fuel is fed by an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system.

Apart from a stylish full-body fairing and twin-cylinder engine, other key features of the motorcycle include multi-function instrument console, KYB suspension set-up, sporty short muffler, split headlamps, 10-spoke painted alloy wheels, front and rear disc brakes among others.
