First KTM Track Day: Duke 390s Roar Loudly at BIC

The first KTM Track Day, first of its kind of experience provided by the Austrian motorcycle maker to its Indian customers. KTM organised Track Day at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) for its Duke 390 customers across the country to make them feel special. Organising the event, the company became the first brand in India to bring its customers to a race track and let them check the limits of their machine.
KTM Duke 390 Track Day also justifies their tag line 'Ready to Race', now you actually can go to a race track and try your hand on your bike. The event got a huge response from the several Duke 390 owners across the country, who participated in the amazing event with their orange machines at BIC. Lets take a short brief of the event along with some highlights on the mean machine of the track day.
There were experts and experienced riders from KTM to guide the customers about track riding before going on the track. The first rule was the proper riding safety gears including, a full face helmet, riding jacket, gloves, ankle length riding shoes, elbow and knee pads. In the instructing session, experts gave some useful tips about the things to be remember while going for a track ride and how to control your machine at high speeds. Customers were guided about taking turns on the track and proper cornering technique on the track.
The riders were divided in groups, to avoid any collision on the track and all the riders were guided about the track route before going for the battle. The track was limited for the day to a 3kms lap to bypass the dangerous turns on the track.
Inspection team was there to check the fitness of the bikes going for the run on the track and after that, the first group was all set to start the race. Roaring voice of the group of orange monsters started coming out from the start point. As the race flagged off, the bikes launched like a rocket from the start line and picked up the speed frequently.
Although, KTM Duke 390 is a naked sport motorcycle and made for the street riding, it performed quite well on the track. The bike was so stable and control was outstanding even at the high speeds, and overall performance of the bike was beyond our expectations. Riders were also giving their best and doing perfect cornering and accelerating well on straight road.
Performance measurement equipments were also there, so the riders can evaluate their performance for improvements. The compact size packed with a powerful 375.3cc liquid-cooled engine, making handling easy with frequent acceleration. The wide tubeless track tyres were providing excellent traction and grip even at the time of cornering, and the riders were doing confident knee downs at every turn.
In the media session, the company described their moto to organise such a fantastic event for its customers. They briefed the media that the event has been held to meet the customers with the fact that which level of a track machine they are owing as the Duke 390. They said that this is the first track event for the customers, we have organized in North India, which has got a tremendous response. This kind of event enhances customer engaging and increase their believe in the brand.
KTM also announced to organise more events like this soon, which will attract the buyers of the entry level performance segment.
