Electric Bike Key Components
BatteryThe rechargeable battery is the power source of the electric two-wheeler and provides the fuel (electricity) to the electric motor. Modern electric bikes and scooters typically use a lithium-ion battery pack, which is usually the most expensive component in an electric two-wheeler. While they are much more affordable, these batteries are considerably heavier than lithium-ion units and take longer to charge.
MotorsElectric motors replace the complex powertrains of conventional two-wheelers. Usually, manufacturers provide a chassis-mounted motor with a belt or in some cases, a chain drive. Some electric two-wheelers have hub motors. Electric motors have the advantage of immediate peak torque delivery and noiseless, pollution-free operation.
ControllerAll that immediate torque may not always be needed, so EVs come with a controller to regulate the flow of power from the battery pack to its motor. It computes usage with respect to the available battery charge and delivers power accordingly. This also opens up electric two-wheelers to various driving modes.
Electric vehicles Pros and Cons
- Pros
- Cons
Scooters are generally associated with urban runabouts and hence, it makes sense for brands to introduce electric options. Motorcycles are a different ballgame as the usage is always expected to be higher, and consequently, they’re expected to offer better range. The Indian two-wheeler segment is still some way from offering electric motorcycles that are good enough to replace a conventional petrol-powered two-wheeler.

User Reviews of E Bikes
Read More
- V good bikePremium build, starts from 2.5 to 4 lakh. Price increase with warranty and range. I chose for few reasons 1) hill control 2) regent breaking 3) aesthetics) Premium build 4) Indian start up 5) very low centre of gravity 6) sticks to road due to heavy weight and traction control. Very comfortable, bit costly but worth it, service is good. They visit home to serve by taking 10 rs per km. Low maintenance, shockers are very good, load of safety features, hill hold , very practical feature, park assist, regent breaks, traction control. Daily ride is minimum 30 km, saves petrol if you ride more, home charging facility. For touring one way 170 km is ok, to charge and return back. Very economical, though initial investment is more, but if you ride heavily you will find it cheap in long run. Warranty for recon plus ( rs 4 lakh) goes to 8 lakh km or 8 years by paying 45000 extra, Without that its 5 year or 5 lakh km.Read More
- Bole to ekdam Bindas BineI chose the Komaki Ranger mainly because of its unique cruiser design and electric concept. It looks different from regular bikes and feels premium on the road. Also, I wanted something eco-friendly with low running cost, so this bike suited my needs well.. The ride experience so far has been smooth and comfortable. The seat is wide and the riding posture is relaxed, which is great for daily commuting. Since it is electric, there is no noise or vibration. I would recommend this bike to people who prefer comfort, style, and savings over speed. It is ideal for city use and daily travel. If you are someone who wants a different-looking bike with low maintenance and fuel-free riding, Komaki Ranger is a good option.Read More
- Very good looking motorcycle, great performance -I was looking for a performance oriented ev bike that my budget while saving on petrol cost. After comparing many EVs, I chose tha oben rorr ez sigma because of its advanced LFP battery technology, which is safer and lasts longer. The ride experience has been impressive. The acceleration is punchy, hitting 40 km/h in just under 5sec. Handling is light and agile, making it easy to maneuver through narrow streets. The havoc mode given a thrilling performance. Yes definately. If you are tired of rising petrol price and want a bike that look like a normal petrol bike but run on electricity, then go for it. For city daily rides and going college or work, it is the best choice for you.Read More
- Manliest EVIt's the manliest EV out there and pretty much is all looks, value of money, you will surely turn heads around while riding it. For someone who is 5'10 this bike is kind of small but it resembles r15 so that fine too. All in all a good mid distance commute bike that looks really good but that's all it comes with. This bike is meant for a mid range commute so that's all I have used it for to go to work and gym if you expect anything more you're just not buying it for the right reasons. It's limitations are pretty evident while you take it for a longer ride. This bike is meant for people who want to commute to work or college daily and it gets the job done in style. If you are anyone that's looking for a low maintenance budget bike that looks premium it is meant for u.Read More
