The S1000XR's ability to slice across the country in a relaxed manner but with ban-inducing speed is amazing. You can ride it faster than the donor sports bike, as the riding position gives better control, is less tiring and makes overtaking easier, especially with the added midrange from the XR-spec engine.

A wonderful tourer. BMW created the best competitor for all the adventure bikes in the 1000cc segment. Overall it is fully equipped with all of the electronics to be in a bike. Safety, comfort, and styling are the main motto of this beauty. BMW focused mainly on the riding posture for better comfort. Maybe this beauty gonna be a trendsetter in the market for a long time. Wish BMW to continue their lineup like this.

BMW S 1000 XR Latest Updates
The S 100 XR Pro is BMW Motorrad’s flagship sports tourer in adventure clothing. It features a new symmetrical design language like the S 1000 RR, a BS6-compliant motor, better electronic rider aids and improved hardware.
2020 S 1000 XR Pro Price:
The 2020 BMW S 1000 XR Pro is priced at Rs 20. 90 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It’s positioned above the F 900 XR which was launched a couple of months ago.
2020 S 1000 XR Pro Features:
The road-biased S 1000 XR takes its design cues from BMW’s flagship superbike, the S 1000 RR. It does away with its asymmetrical styling language for a symmetrical one as per BMW’s new brand identity. You have LED lights all around with a sharper looking front end, a full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, and pannier mounting points. The top-spec Pro variant that’s available in India comes with four modes (HSC Pro, MSR, ABS Pro, DTC), traction control, wheelie control, engine drag torque control, cruise control, keyless ignition, an adaptive headlight, heated grips and a quickshifter.
2020 S 1000 XR Pro Engine:
The S 1000 XR powered by the same 999cc inline-four engine that’s seen on the S 1000 RR. That said, it’s been detuned to make 165PS and 114Nm. The motor also ditches BMW's ShiftCam technology that gives the S 1000 RR a better spread of power throughout the rev range. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
2020 S 1000 XR Pro Suspension & Brakes:
The 2020 S 1000 XR uses an aluminium composite bridge frame with a fully adjustable suspension setup which comprises of a 45mm USD fork and monoshock from ZF. Its 17-inch wheels come wrapped in road-biased tyres. For braking, the S 1000 XR uses twin 320mm discs up front and a 220mm single disc at the rear, both from Hayes. At 226kg, it’s also 10kg lighter than the previous-gen model.
2020 S 1000 XR Pro Rivals:
In terms of competition, the 2020 S 1000 XR Pro goes up against the Kawasaki Versys 1000. However, if you were to consider its price, it also takes on the Yamaha YZF-R1, Triumph Rocket 3 R, Harley Davidson Fat Boy, BWM S 1000 RR Pro and the R 1250 GS Pro.
