Overview

The Yamaha Tenere 4 Concept is a smaller adventure motorcycle that could eventually sit in the 400cc segment, below the Tenere 700. It was unveiled at EICMA 2026.
Engine, Mileage & Performance

The concept features an all-new single-cylinder engine and a newly developed chassis. While Yamaha hasn't revealed the engine's exact displacement or performance figures, the A2 classification suggests that it could make somewhere around 46-48PS. Expect it to deliver a strong low- and mid-range torque while retaining sufficient performance at higher engine speeds, making it suitable for everyday riding and long-distance adventure touring.
Handling & Ride Quality

The Tenere 4 Concept gets a newly developed lightweight chassis paired with KYB suspension at both ends. It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, wrapped in Michelin Anakee Wild tyres, indicating its off-road-focused nature. Another highlight is the compact titanium Akrapovic exhaust, although it won’t make it in the production version.
Rivals To Consider

The Yamaha Tenere 4 is still a concept, and the Japanese manufacturer hasn't confirmed its production plans or launch timeline. We really hope it makes it to production, but realistically, even if it does, Yamaha will not likely launch it here. If Yamaha ends up mass producing this one, then it will be a fitting reply from the brand to the growing popularity of sub-500cc adventure bikes such as the KTM 390 Adventure S, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, and parallel-twin contenders sich as the BMW F 450 GS, and the Honda NX500.
