Yamaha has updated its naked street fighter, the MT-09 for 2019. The mid-capacity motorcycle gets a new white paint scheme and has received a price hike of Rs 16,000. While the frontend on the MT-09 draws its design inspiration from the bigger MT-10 with the dual LED headlights, the remainder of the design remains unchanged. The MT-09 is propelled by an 847cc, 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve powertrain that is linked to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. Peak power produced is 115PS, while peak torque generated is 87.5Nm. Other features include a slip and assist clutch, quick shifter and 3 riding modes.

Suspension duties are managed by fully adjustable upside-down front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Brakes consist of 298mm dual discs at the front and a 245mm rear disc with ABS as standard. The 2018 MT-09 is priced at Rs 10.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available three colours options namely - blue, grey and black. The MT-09 competes against the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple S, Suzuki GSX-S750 and the Ducati Monster 821.
