Komaki India has launched a new electric scooter, called the XR7 at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom). The e-scooter is meant to be a simple commuter offering, which claims to offer a massive range of 322km. This makes it the e-scooter with the highest range in the Komaki lineup.
The Komaki XR7 has a simple design, which incorporates a few retro-themed elements. It gets a diamond-shaped headlight which looks similar to what we have seen on older scooters. There’s also a chrome highlight on the middle of the apron which looks quite nice and gives the scooter a premium touch. It is offered in 4 colours: Red, Blue, Black and Grey.
The e-scooter is powered by a 3kWh hub motor which offers a claimed top speed of 55kmph. The XR7 also gets a 4.5kWh Lipo4 battery pack which offers a claimed range of 322km. The brand is offering a warranty of 3 years for the battery, motor and controller and 1 year on the charger.
It gets a telescopic fork at the front, and a twin shock-absorber setup. The e-scooter rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends, with a braking setup that consists of a disc brake at the front and a drum at the rear.
The XR7 would come with a digital instrument console displaying speed, battery-level along with trip and odometer readouts. The scooter has a 30-litre underseat storage along with a glove box at the apron. The scooter also gets reverse mode as well.
The XR7 goes up against other commuter electric scooters in the market such as the Ola S1 X range at this price point. While the Komaki XR7 has unique retro looks backed by a really impressive claimed range, we’ll reserve our final verdict only after testing the e-scooter in the real world.
