Upcoming Hero Dual-Sport Bike Spied Without Camouflage

Hero MotoCorp is working on a new dual-sport motorcycle, and it has now been spotted without camouflage, giving us a closer look at its design. It appears to be more of an off-road-focused bike, with long-travel suspension at both ends. It could be positioned below the Xpulse 200. 

Design And Underpinnings 

The latest spy shot reveals a production-ready motorcycle; however, the image is only of the tail-section. This appears to be the same bike, which Hero recently patented in India. It gets a tall stance and an off-road-focused design. The bike can be seen with a slim tank profile, which should make it comfortable to grip while riding. There are also sharp-looking tank extensions to complement the dual-sport design. The rear luggage rack is an added practicality feature that should help carry luggage, especially while touring. The bike also gets an upswept exhaust and spoke wheels, further highlighting its dual-sport intent.

Underpinnings-wise, the bike is expected to feature a telescopic fork with fork gaiters, and a rear monoshock. Braking duties will be  taken care of by disc brakes at both ends. Also, according to the patented image, the bike could run on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup, just as the Hero Impulse. This should help the motorcycle perform well on poor roads, while making it suitable for everyday riding as well. 

Engine 

The engine specs aren’t revealed yet. However, a similar bike was spotted last year, and it had an air-cooled engine with cooling fins and missed out on an oil-cooler. This could very likely be the same bike, and will use a smaller engine than the Xpulse 200 and the Xpulse 210.

The upcoming motorcycle could be a more affordable dual-sport option for buyers looking for a more accessible alternative to the Xpulse 200 and 210. The bike is expected to come with a 160cc engine, which should make it more trail-friendly due to its lower weight. At the same time, it should be comfortable for everyday city rides. There is another possibility that this bike will not be launched in India, but in the international market.

That said, will it revive the Impulse nameplate or be an addition to the Xpulse lineup? That remains to be seen, as Hero is yet to confirm its launch timeline and engine details. More details are expected to emerge closer to the bike’s production.
