UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS Launch: More Details Emerge

The baby adventure bike from UM will be launched in 2019 and go up against the Hero XPulse 200T

Just a few days after UM Motorcycles's upcoming adventure bike was first pictured at what looked like a dealer meet, more details of its price, specifications, features and colour options have emerged. The bike will be called the DSR Adventure 200 ABS and will go on sale in 2019.

It’s powered by a 196cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted motor that produces 16.2PS of power at 8500rpm and 16Nm of max torque at 6500rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox. When it comes to braking hardware, the bike gets disc brakes at both ends and single-channel ABS. The DSR Adventure 200 also gets a 780mm saddle, which is rather low for an adventure bike. It features a 14-litre fuel tank, a large windshield and 17-inch alloys shod with tubeless tyres.

UM will launch the DSR Adventure 200 ABS with four colour options, viz. Olive Green, Brick Red, Midnight Black and Octane Blue. The bike will carry a price tag of Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) when launched. Its most immediate competitor will be the Hero XPulse 200T.

The soon-to-be-launched ADV bike from Hero is powered by a 200cc single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled engine that produces 18.4PS of power and 17.1Nm of torque. Moreover, the XPulse 200T is likely to sport a price tag of around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), thus undercutting the UM DSR Adventure 200 ABS by a significant margin.
