Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover Variants Explained: Price, Features, Performance, Range, Which To Buy?

Ultraviolette Automotive has finally revealed all the variants of the recently launched X-47 Crossover. With claimed ranges varying between 211km and 323km, advanced safety systems, and long warranties, the lineup is tempting but can be confusing to some. Here’s a closer look at all the trims, with every feature and other differences explained, so you can pick the one that suits you best:

What’s Common Across All Variants

All variants of the Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover have a claimed top speed of 145 kmph, a sub-3 second 0-60kmph claimed acceleration time, and 3 ride modes: Glide, Combat, Ballistic. Even safety tech like switchable dual-channel ABS, 3-level traction control, dynamic stability control, and Radar based features (ADAS, rear only) are standard. The ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) includes rear collision warning, lane change assist, overtake alert, and blindspot detection.

Other features include a ‘smart dash’ with Violette AI, hill hold (prevents rolling backwards/forwards while standstill on an incline), park assist, ‘find my X-47’, charge limits (automatically stops charging after a particular limit, minimising stress on the battery), deep sleep mode (protects battery during long durations of non-use), and a USB type-C charging port. The dual dashcams (front + rear) are optional across all variants except the limited Desert Wing edition.

Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover Original

These two are the entry-level trims with the smaller 7.1 kWh battery. The Original+ adds more warranty and connectivity, making it a smarter long-term pick. Also note that only the Original Plus variant comes with the onboard charger and not the base Original. The onboard charger eliminates the need for a bulky charging brick, and you just need to carry a charging cable that can easily fit into your pocket. Boost Charger and Parallel Boost Chargers are the fastest charging systems available. The Plus variant also has the advantage of more levels of electronic aids.

The Recon trims are the real stars of the lineup. With bigger battery packs and more powerful motors, they offer significantly more range.

Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover Desert Wing

At the very top sits the Desert Wing limited edition, priced at Rs 4.49 Lakh (ex-showroom). It gets a special colour, but uses the same 10.3kWh battery and 30 kW motor as the Recon trims, with identical performance. The difference lies in ownership experience – it comes standard with the ‘UV Care Max’ warranty, covering 8-years/8,00,000km (whichever first), without any paid extensions. It also bundles in every advanced rider aid, connectivity feature, and fast-charging option right out of the box. Accessories like the knuckle and crash guards, saddle stays, fog lights, and a rear top rack are also included as standard.

If you look at the Recon variants, you’ll realise that the only difference between the base Recon and Recon+ is that the Recon Plus comes with the onboard charger, TPMS, and AI software. That’s half a lakh rupees more for the charger and a few goodies, which seems like a somewhat hefty price to pay for the extra convenience. If you have the budget, then you may go for the top-end variant, but those who don’t want to pay this much for an onboard charger can simply invest in saddlebags (available as an accessory) and store the charging brick in there.

For those who aren’t super keen on having the best of range can go for the Original+ as it’s quite sensible with better connectivity, regen, and warranty – making it the better buy for Rs 50,000 more than the Original. It may have lesser claimed range than the Recon variant, but still seems good enough for most of the commutes (strictly going by the claimed numbers).
