Triumph Trident 660 Launch Tomorrow
Get ready for the most affordable Triumph yet!
Get ready for the most affordable Triumph yet!

The Triumph-Bajaj partnership will begin to bear fruit in a couple of years. But until then, the most affordable Triumph on sale in the country will be the Trident 660, which is all set to launch tomorrow. Here’s what’s in store for us: the Street Twin, the current most affordable Triumph, recently received a Rs 50,000 price hike and now sits at Rs 7.95 lakh. So we expect the Trident to make its entry at around the Rs 7.5 lakh.

For this, you’ll get one extra cylinder over the Street Twin, but displacement will go down to 660cc. Nevertheless, output figures of 81PS and 64Nm are quite healthy, especially compared to competition like the Kawasaki Z650 (68PS/64Nm) and Honda CB650R (87PS/58.5Nm.) In terms of pricing, too, the Trident should sit quite neatly between the Kawi (Rs 6.04 lakh) and the Honda (Rs 8.67 lakh.) Stay tuned for more details...
