Features a tweaked 250cc motor but remains cosmetically unchanged
- The quarter-litre naked looks similar to the BS6 Gixxer, albeit a few differences.
- Powered by a 249cc, BS6-compliant engine, which produces the same power as before.
- Bookings for the bike have commenced via authorised Suzuki dealerships.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 has been unveiled at Auto Expo 2020. The bike gets a future-proof engine, but misses out on cosmetic updates. A couple of new paint schemes would have surely upped its style quotient. Nevertheless, bookings for the bike have commenced and customers can book the streetfighter at Suzuki's very own stall at the auto expo or any authorised dealership. While prices aren't out yet, we expect a minor hike of around Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 over the BS4 model, which retails at Rs 1,59,800 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Aside from a 250cc motor, radial tyres and a beefier suspension setup, the Gixxer 250 looks identical to its younger sibling. However, to differentiate itself, the Gixxer 250 gets bronze highlights on the headlight cowl, side body panels and engine casing.

It's powered by a 249cc, BS6-compliant fuel-injected single-cylinder engine with a unique oil-cooler. The tweaked motor now produces 26.5PS of power at 9300rpm and 22.2Nm of peak torque at 7300rpm, mated to a 6-speed transmission. The BS4 Gixxer 250 produces the same power, however, slightly lower down the rev range at 9000rpm and 0.4Nm more torque at 7500rpm.
It carries over the same mechanicals as before - a telescopic fork, a rear monoshock, and disc brakes at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS. Its 17-inch wheels come wrapped in 110/70-section front and 150/60-section rear radial tyres. In terms of competition, the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 250 sits bang in between the Yamaha FZ 25 and the KTM 250 Duke.
