Check out the bleeding-edge beautiful Katana in images

While we were expecting Suzuki to showcase the V-Strom 1050 among its big bikes at Auto Expo 2020, the Japanese brand did one better with the gorgeous Katana. When launched, it will be Suzuki’s first neo-retro naked big bike in India. Here’s an up-close look at this motorcycle:

The design of the motorcycle is a clear throwback of the 1980s Katana, complete with sculpted, sharp-looking tank extensions holding the boxy headlamp and a stubby tail section.

The headlamp is all-LED and so are the indicators and tail lamp. Interestingly, the DRLs are designed to look like the edge of a Katana.

The front-end features a pair of 310mm discs held by dual Brembo radial calipers with Bosch dual-channel ABS.

The 43mm KYB inverted forks are adjustable for rebound compression as well as preload. It offers 120mm of stroke.

The motorcycle comes with a full-LCD instrument cluster. While it looks cool, some geeks might prefer a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity.

Suzuki has built the Katana on an aluminium alloy twin-spar frame, which weighs the same as the one on the current-generation Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Powering the Katana is a long-stroke version of the 2005-2008 GSX-R1000-derived 999cc inline-four, liquid-cooled engine. It is paired to a 6-speed slipper clutch-enabled transmission and reined in by a 3-mode traction control system.

The rear linked monoshock offers a 63mm stroke and comes with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability.

Ensuring the tail section looks minimalistic, the indicators have been integrated into the tyre hugger. The bike gets a fat 190-section rubber whereas the front-end gets a 120-section tyre.

The sharp-looking LED tail lamp goes really well with the overall theme of the motorcycle.
