Choose from tourers, classic motorcycles and streetfighters

Enthusiasts can finally get their hands on the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 for Rs 1,74,000. That’s a minor price hike of Rs 3,345 over the BS4 model. Then again, the previous iteration wasn’t exactly BS4, in fact, it was a BS6 ready model, thus the rather small price difference. Either way, if you still aren’t entirely convinced with the idea of buying the BS6 Gixxer SF 250, you could have a look at these options around the same price.

Dominar 250 - Rs 1,60,000

The constant price hikes over the last year or so have made the once-affordable Dominar 400 rather expensive, putting it out of reach of enthusiasts on a budget. Bajaj intends to solve this issue with the introduction of the Dominar 250. It packs similar features and mechanicals as its elding sibling but gets a smaller KTM 250 derived liquid-cooled motor that packs enough punch to take on rivals like the Gixxer SF 250. Also, unlike the SF 250, the quarter-litre Dominar features a relatively relaxed riding posture.

Jawa - Rs 1,73,164

The Jawa may not be able to hold a candle to the Gixxer SF 250 in terms of riding dynamics, but it sure as hell holds some aspirational value. You could even call it a religion in the biking culture. What sells is the bike's classic charm and a sophisticated short-stroke liquid-cooled engine that loves being pushed hard. The fact that it's lightweight and employs a responsive chassis makes it all the more fun.

KTM 200 Duke - Rs 1,76,845

The KTM 200 Duke set the benchmark in the performance-oriented 200cc segment by offering a ton of features, premium quality components, and a rev-happy motor. It steps things up a notch for 2020 with a new design, subframe, revised ergos and BS6-compliant motors. It may be underpowered compared to the SF 250, but it’ll still bring a smile to your face every time you tip it into a corner.

Classic 350 BS6 Stealth Black Rs.1,84,482

You could also opt for the best selling bike in Royal Enfield's portfolio, the Classic 350. The classic thump and the bike's retro charm is enough to draw in the crowd. Granted it isn't as fast or nimble as the SF 250, but it was never meant to be. The Classic 350 was meant to cruise, something it does really well (at low speeds of course).
