Suzuki’s much anticipated scooter is all set to launch mid July – will compete agaisn’t the Honda Grazia and TVS Ntorq 125

The Japanese manufacturer has confirmed that it will launch its maxi styled scooter, the Burgman Street on the 19th of July. Dealerships across India have been accepting bookings for a token amount of up to Rs 5,000 for a while now. With regards to the pricing, Suzuki hasn't revealed a number yet, although, we expect it to be priced at Rs 60,000 (ex-showroom) give or take.

Styled after the Burgman range of maxi-scooters, the Street features an integrated LED headlamp, body-mounted windscreen, a multi-function key slot, a 12V charging socket and an LED tail lamp. The Burman Street also gets a digital instrument cluster derived from the Suzuki Gixxer. Other features include a 12V charging socket, lavish under seat storage, storage bins behind the front apron, tubeless tyres and a disc brake up front.

The Burgman Street shares the same engine as the Access 125. The 124.3cc, single-cylinder motor makes 8.7PS at 7000rpm and produces a peak torque of 10.2Nm at 5000rpm. The Burgman Street employs telescopic front forks and a hydraulic monoshock unit at the rear. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes on both ends with an optional disc for the front. Since the Access comes equipped with Combined Braking System (CBS), we suspect that Suzuki would give the Burgman Street the same treatment.

Once launched, the Suzuki Burgman Street will compete against the Honda Grazia priced at Rs 63,448 for Disc variant, and the TVS NTorq priced at Rs 59,650 (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
