Okinawa has launched a new electric scooter called the PraisePro. Priced at Rs 71,990, the new e-scooter is positioned between the Praise and the I-Praise+, which are priced at Rs 65,430 and Rs 1.08 lakh, respectively (all prices, ex-showroom).
The PraisePro shares most of its features like central locking with an anti-theft alarm, keyless entry and a USB charging port with the base-spec model. While the Praise is offered with three dual-tone paint options, the new variant is available with just two single-tone colours - red and black.
However, the major change between the two is the battery unit. While the standard model gets a lead-acid unit, the mid-spec variant comes equipped with a lithium-ion battery, which is detachable and can be charged in 2-3 hours (claimed) via a normal wall socket. This feature is similar to what we have seen on the Revolt RV 400. The electric-scooter has an ARAI-certified range of 110km in Eco mode and 88km in Sports mode. Powering the PraisePro is a BLDC motor with a power output of 2500W. Okinawa claims that the e-scooter has a top speed of 65kmph-70kmph in Turbo mode.
If you are planning to buy the PraisePro or any other Okinawa scooter, then we have some good news for you. Last month, the manufacturer had announced that it is offering various discounts on its models. However, it is a limited period offer and is valid until 31 October 2019.

- ASSEMBLED PARTS/WORST PRODUCT/AFTER SALEI purchased Okinawa Praise scooter on 1.12.2018.for Rs.69800/- In start running well. After three months Diggi cracked. After five months one bearing & MCB damaged. Replaced with payment. After seven months, censor and all the six batteries damaged. Replaced after very much struggle. After eleven months, the backside tyre rubbed. They approved tyre replacement on 20.1.2020 because within warranty, but not replaced by the dealer, because they have not received the tyre cost amount from the Company till date. Now the Company has withdrawn their approval. That is the repo and worth of the Company. They have not the amount equal to the cost of tyre. Shameful on their parts to withdrew their APPROVAL. One thing more that after six months from the relaced six batteries damaged again i.e. the newly replaced batteries set runs six months only. At the time of purchase, the dealer assured me that the batteries will run three years. But two sets damaged for 13 months. The new batteries set costs 36000/- with the six-month warranty I .e.the running cost for six months is a 36000/-Rs.6000/-per month. One can't afford such a running cost.
