KTM Duke and Kawasaki Ninja prices slashed

After the excise duty reduction, all the auto manufacturers in India are announcing reduced prices of their models. Now, the Austrian auto major KTM and the Japanese auto giant Kawasaki announced the reduced prices of their entry level performance bikes available in the Indian market. KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390 are now available at Rs. 1,30,783 and 1,80,936 respectively, while Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 650 now costs Rs. 3,38,584 and 4,92,111 respectively (All prices Ex-Showroom, New Delhi).

A couple of months ago, KTM increased the prices of its motorcycles in India due to increased cost of equipments used in the bikes. The price cut is almost similar to that increament, making the new prices similar to the older price of the bike. Both the KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390 are manufactured in India at the Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant, which helps to maintain the price aggressively in comparison to its competitors in the market.

Both the naked sport bikes are based on same platform, differentiated by their paint schemes. KTM Duke 200 uses a 199.5cc. liquid cooled, 4-valve, single cylinder engine, churns out a maximum power of 25bhp, while KTM Duke 390 sports a 373.2cc engine of similar configuration, delivering 43bhp of maximum power.

Both the full faired bikes, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 650 has different designs and uses 4-stroke, liquid cooled, parallel twins with 4-valve per head configuration. Ninja 300 gets a 296cc mill, bells out 38.5bhp, while Ninja 650 boasts a 649cc engine, producing outstanding 71bhp. All the bikes has front and rear disc brakes for better control on speed and Ninja 650 also gets an extra discs on the front wheel.
