KTM 250 Duke BS6 With LED Headlight Officially Launched

KTM has officially launched the updated 250 Duke BS6 with a more premium LED headlight. Priced at Rs 2,09,280, it is now Rs 3,968 more expensive than its original BS6 price of Rs 2,05,312. The updated motorcycle was spotted at some KTM dealerships last week, and bookings are already open for an amount of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 depending on the dealership.

The new LED headlight replaces the previous halogen unit and is borrowed from its larger sibling, the 390 Duke, meaning that it’s now even tougher to tell the two bikes apart. Nevertheless, despite now sharing the same face, the two are distinguishable by their livery and the 250 Duke’s LCD display compared to the 390 Duke’s colour TFT instrument console.

Aside from this, there are no changes to the bike. It continues to be powered by the same 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that delivers 30PS and 24Nm. As part of its BS6 update in January, the 250 Duke got the 390 Duke’s 43mm WP upside down open cartridge fork, Supermoto ABS mode and two new colour schemes.

It is a bit odd that KTM did not add the LED headlight back in January itself, but with the entry of new players into the segment like the Husqvarna 250s and Bajaj Dominar 250, both of which feature LED headlights, perhaps KTM’s hand was forced. This extra feature puts the Duke on par with its competition when it comes to equipment levels, but the KTM is still the most expensive bike in the segment by quite some margin.
