King Khan And His Two-Wheeler Connection
As Shah Rukh Khan turns 57, we look at all the bikes he has ridden throughout the years
Shah Rukh Khan has been gracing the silver screen with his charm for over thirty years now, and throughout this reign, he has ridden numerous bikes both on and off screen. While he is known for his fondness of cars, he is also a very generous friend, having gifted many expensive two-wheelers to his co-actors and a few lucky fans.
Shah Rukh Khan made his debut on the big screen in Deewana, which was released in June 1992. He was seen riding a Yamaha DT125R, a tall, 125cc two-stroke off-roader, thus kicking off his career in style and also riding straight into our hearts.
From cruising down scenic European roads atop a V-twin bagger in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, to commuting around Mumbai, portraying a humble man with big dreams on a Vijai Super in Yes Boss, King Khan has ridden it all. Also, who can forget the leader of the Eagle gang, Max Dias, riding a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 through the roads of Vasco as if he owns the town; and also the friendship of Raj Kapoor and Taani Sahni (Anushka Sharma) slowly turning into romance every time they went for a ride on a Suzuki GSR 600 in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
Given the number of two-wheelers King Khan has ridden in all his movies over the years, you might think that he’d also have a large collection of bikes in his personal garage. Well, Shah Rukh Khan currently owns only one bike, a BMW S 1000 RR, while his first bike was a KTM 200 Duke in 2013, which was gifted to him by Rajiv Bajaj himself!
Rohit Shetty had also gifted SRK a Harley Davidson Softail Breakout, while the actor has generously gifted expensive bikes to his co-actors, like a Ducati Multistrada to Sanjay Dutt and a Harley Davidson bike to Abhishek Bachchan. In fact, he gifted a Harley to a lucky fan attending his concert in New York too!
