Kawasaki Ninja 650 BS6 Reaches Dealerships

Customers can book the BS6 Ninja 650 for a token amount of Rs 49,000

Customers can book the BS6 Ninja 650 for a token amount of Rs 49,000

  • The 2020 model features a new LED headlight and a 4.3-inch colour TFT console with smartphone connectivity.
  • It even gets stickier Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres.

The BS6-compliant Kawasaki Ninja 650 has started rolling into dealerships all across India post its launch early last month. The bike is priced at Rs 6,24,000 (ex-showroom), which makes it Rs 35,000 more expensive than the BS4 model. It’s available in two liveries: Lime Green and Pearl White, either of which can be booked for a token amount of Rs 49,000 through Kawasaki’s website: https://kawasaki-india.com.

For 2020, the Ninja 650 features a sharper fairing and new split LED headlight inspired by the Kawasaki Ninja 400. It also comes equipped with a new 4.3-inch colour TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity.

It draws power from a BS6-compliant 650cc parallel-twin engine that produces the same power and torque outputs as before --  68PS at 8000rpm and 65.7Nm at 6700rpm. However, according to Kawasaki, the engine has been retuned for better mid-range grunt compared to the BS4 model. It retains the same 6-speed transmission and weighs the same (196kg) as the outgoing model.

In terms of underpinnings, the BS6 Ninja 650 features a new set of Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres. Its suspension and braking setup remain unchanged.

Adequate power + good mileage for a tourer

It could possibly be a good bike for the tourers, especially the ones traveling inter-city or interstate. The bike's comfortable riding position and ergonomic control give the biker the pleasure to be on it while mile-munching on the highways and the bike is equally good on the in-city roads as well. Mileage-wise, the bikes return a comparably better fuel average than similarly priced bikes. But one can also consider the Suzuki GSX S750 for just a tiny buck more. It not only has 2 more cylinders to power itself but it also sports 46PS and a 17Nm surplus of power and torque over the Ninja 650. So the Ninja here is an entry-level adventure tourer where as the S750 is a naked street sports bike that can also be used as a sports tourer but still the Ninja650 will return much better fuel mileage than S750 ever can. Make sure u know what u want before finalizing either of them.Read More

Most Comfortable Bike

This is the most comfortable bike that feels like sitting on the bed, and performance is next level. Its engine pickup is very nice, and it almost takes 5 seconds to touch 100kmph. Read More
