  • The price for the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike starts from Rs 94,995 (ex-showroom Delhi)

  • Provides claimed mileage of a total of 330km, CNG mode: 200km & petrol mode: around 130km

The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike was launched a couple of months back, in July. When launched the CNG bike was available in Maharashtra and Gujarat only. Since then the company has been ramping up its manufacturing to make the bike available in more states, getting ready for the festive season. Here’s how the Freedom 125 has performed sales-wise since its launch.

As per reports, the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike has sold over 5,000 units since its launch on July 5, 2024. In July, the CNG bike sold 272 units, 4,109 units were sold in August and 637 units between September 1 and 4. The growth in sales in August was seen as the company made the bike available in 77 towns and cities across India and also major cities like Delhi and Kerala.

The Freedom 125 is available in 3 variants: NG04 Drum costs Rs 94,995, NG04 Drum LED priced at Rs 1,04,998 and NG04 Disc LED at Rs 1,09,997 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The bike is powered by a 125cc air-cooled engine which can run on either CNG or petrol and produces 9.5PS & 9.7Nm. It is equipped with a 2kg CNG tank and a 2-litre fuel tank. As per our test, mileage was 85km/kg from CNG and 55-56kmpl from petrol, in mixed riding conditions. That would mean a running cost of under 1 Rupee per kilometre when using CNG. It features a first-in-category, mono-linked type suspension, a long seat, LED headlamps, a digital speedometer and Bluetooth connectivity.

Bajaj Auto received over 30,000 inquiries about the bike within the first week of launch from all over India. This surge in interest should be due to the higher mileage and lower running costs than petrol-powered bikes that the bike promises. To meet these growing demands, the company has planned to upscale the manufacturing of the Freedom 125 CNG bike from 10,000 units to 40,000 units. Bajaj will also be actively participating in expanding the CNG infrastructure in the country. They also have plans to export the bike to Bangladesh, Columbia, Egypt, Indonesia, Tanzania and Peru.
