Indian Motorcycle is doing good in the Indian market with a sales figure of around 90 units last year. Now, the company is expecting to increase this number to 140 units for this year and has some exciting plans to achieve the target. The biggest news from this reveal is that Indian Motorcycle could start CKD (Completely Knocked Down)  operations in the country by 2018, which means there ccould be a significant fall in the prices of the Indian motorcycles after the local assembly starts. The company might start the CKD operations in a phased manner, starting from the smaller products, which are sold more, like the Indian Scout.

Before starting the CKD operation, Indian Motorcycle plans to bring some new models to India including the new Springfield and the Chieftain Dark Horse. This might coincide with the launch of the Springfield. Another Indian dealership is coming to Jaipur, Rajasthan, which is also scheduled for a launch before the end of this year. In the beginning of the next year, the company plans to set up its store in Kochi, Kerala, followed by some more dealerships in 2017.
