The recall affects bikes that were manufactured between 2018 and 2020

    Quick News Highlights

    • Honda CB300R recalled in India

    • The manufacturer has identified a headlight issue

    • Recall is free for all units affected, even if not in warranty

Honda Motorcycle And Scooter India has officially announced a voluntary recall for select units of the CB300R in the country. The recall addresses a potential issue in the bike’s headlight. The affected models identified are manufactured between 2018 and 2020.

    Issue

Honda has recognized a problem with the internal PCB (printed circuit board) structure, housed behind the main LED headlight unit. Regular use and road vibrations over time could cause the wires connected to the headlight terminals to break or disconnect. This might lead to flickering lights or in some cases, a complete headlight failure.

    Solution

The manufacturer has stated that all affected customers will receive a free replacement of the faulty part, regardless of whether their vehicle is still under warranty or not. The company has advised owners of CB300R motorcycles manufactured between 2018 and 2020 to check if their bike is part of the recall. This can be done by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the official Honda BigWing website. Additionally, Honda dealerships will be reaching out to affected customers via phone, email, or SMS. The replacement process will take place only at Honda BigWing service centers. The service technicians will inspect the bike and replace the affected parts.

    BikeDekho Says

We would advise the customers to book an appointment in advance to avoid delays for the part replacement. We would also suggest riders to avoid riding the bike at night until the part has been replaced. As for our opinion on the headlight’s performance, we found the CB300R’s headlight spread to be decent, but the throw and the intensity could have been better.

      Honda CB300R handles very poorly
I personally feel that Honda CB300R handles very poorly compared to other bikes in this segment. The bike being light in weight, high wind speeds easily topples the whole bike and makes it exceedingly unstable at speeds above 80 kilometers per hour. I ride this bikes at city approx 34 kmpl on soft throttle which is low. I do not even hard push the bike on highways.
