Hero Xoom 160: Features Explained
Hero’s most premium scooter is well-equipped with features, but there are some not-so-good bits as well. Here’s an analysis

The Hero Xoom 160 is a maxi-scooter that’s designed in a way where adventure styling meets a feature list that covers urban commuters and weekend tourers alike. That said, there are also a few misses, and here’s the full breakdown:
Convenience Features

The Hero Xoom 160 gets a smart key that allows for keyless operation, including a remote seat-opening function. While at 22 likeyless operation, inclutres, the underseat storage isn’t really segment-leading, it should suffice for regular groceries or the occasional weekend trip. It also gets a conveniently-placed fuel tank cap on the floorboard spine so that you don’t have to get off the scooter for refuelling.
The digital cluster has Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation, putting directions on the display. While this is a genuinely useful addition, the console looks dated, and is not very legible on the move. Hero should’ve offered a TFT console, especially at this price point.

Other than these, it also gets a start-stop system that cuts the engine when idling in traffic for a few seconds. It turns back on when the rider pulls the rear brake lever and twists the throttle. This helps in saving fuel when commuting in heavy traffic. It works with a silent starter, so say bye-bye to noisy starts. For long-distance comfort, a dual footrest design with flat and inclined positions lets riders shift stance on the move. You also get a windscreen that reduces wind blasts when riding on the highway at high speeds. At 7 litres, the fuel tank capacity is also bigger than other scooters. Hero also offers an accessory top box for extra storage, and a taller windshield for better wind protection.
Safety Features

Up front, a 240mm disc brake is paired with a single-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS). The rear uses a drum, but Hero should’ve provided a disc for better braking performance. There are no traction control or riding modes.
BikeDekho Says
All in all, at Rs 1,39,898 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Xoom 160 gets the basics right, but some of the shortcomings such as the lack of TFT console and a rear disc makes it one step behind becoming a complete package. That said, none of its shortcomings are deal-breakers as such, and if you’re in the lookout for a maxi-scooter with high performance and butch styling, the Xoom is a great option to consider. Do keep in mind that the Xoom 160 is sold exclusively through Hero’s premium Premia dealership network, which isn’t as widespread as regular Hero dealerships.

- Winner from Hero!Absolutely the best in its segment. Feels like you are riding a bike. Much better than Aerox in terms of riding posture, comfort and overall performance. Some minor quirks like a dated instrument cluster, unimaginative glove box, limited storage etc. Engine performance and acceleration is nice - Aerox is tad faster. Go for Xoom 160 without a doubt!Read More4 2
- Major Hit with some FlawsI chose this bike as I wanted an upgraded version, bigger tyre size, better power, and with an ABS, good suspension and a bit of off-roading as Mumbai roads are pathetic . So no other bike in the market offers these things aerox is there but it has a harder suspension that is tough on shoulders positive ride , for someone who uses the scooter for daily commute this is a major upgrade than most of the scooters available in the market. The pickup is good , braking is amazing , the handling is a bit hard, it is just the engine sound that is a bit off Yes I would recommend this bike to anyone who uses Burgman scooters in that segment if they are looking for an upgraded version. Every scooter has its ups and downs but here the ups are more and it is the most practical choice in the Indian market.Read More3 3
