Hero Motocorp is reportedly geared up to launch a new Splendor iSmart 110 in April this year. First made its presence at the Expo, it is a first fully in-house developed motorcycle. As per the report of a daily online portal, the new Splendor iSmart is likely to be launched in domestic market by April this year. However, the exact launch date isn’t confirmed yet. This comes after the introduction of first in-house developed scooters - Hero Maestro Edge and Duet last year. This upcoming fuel-efficient motorcycle is likely to get the price tag of Rs. 56,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will fall in executive motorcycle category. When compared with its younger sibling, the updated bike offers 9 percent more power and 6 percent more mileage than its existing version.

Aesthetically, the bike looks quite similar to its younger sibling, but will feature dual-tone colour scheme. Earlier this month, the company had showcased the bike in Red-Black and Blue-Black colour schemes during the Auto Expo. The bike is built-around a single downtube frame having telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is powered by an all-new single-cylinder 4-stroke 110cc engine that is capable of producing around 8.9bhp of power at 7,500rpm along with peak torque of 9Nm at 5,500rpm. The company claims it to be the most fuel efficient motorcycle ever introduced. This comes after the launch of 2016 TVS Victor, which has received the improved power and technologies. The launch of 110cc iSmart version will give a  tough competition to the TVS’s latest entry, Victor and the Honda’s Livo which recently entered the list of top 10 selling motorcycles in the month of January.

Thanks to its I3S technology, the Splendor iSmart series offers better fuel economy than any other motorcycle available in the market. I3S is a battery operated sensor circuit that detects the idleness of the engine and when it does so, it automatically turns off the engine and can turn the engine on by simply pressing the clutch again. Thus, saves the fuel and returns improved fuel economy.
