Hero Karizma XMR 210 Base Variant Discontinued

The base variant of the Hero Karizma XMR 210 has been discontinued in India. The base variant featured a telescopic fork setup, and a LCD smartphone-connected console. After the launch of the variant with inverted fork and TFT console, Hero continued to list the variant with the telescopic fork, but positioned it as the base variant. Now with this variant gone, there are only the one with the inverted fork (called ‘Top’ variant), and the Combat Edition. 

The Hero Karizma XMR 210 base variant was offered at a price of Rs 1.73 lakh ex-showroom, whereas the Top and Combat Edition cost a lot more. Here’s a breakdown of the new variant prices: 

Back when the Hero Karizma XMR was first launched, the bike didn’t get an inverted fork and this was something many didn’t like. The lack of an inverted fork setup was seen as a big let down, as even the more affordable Hero Xtreme 160R 4V got the same.

Hero recently fixed this issue with the launch of the 2025 Hero Karizma XMR 210. But with the current prices, the bike does not offer as much value for money. The Hero Xtreme 250R, with the starting price of Rs 1,79,999 (ex-showroom), is Rs 20,000 cheaper than the Top variant of the Karizma 210. The Xtreme 250R offers a lot more performance and also comes with more premium features. 

That said, the Karizma’s sales numbers seem to have taken a hit of late. As per the sales data from SIAM (expand it), Hero sold only 72 units of the bike in May 2025, which further dropped to 16 units in June 2025. Comparatively, the brand sold a lot more bikes in June 2024, 476 units, to be precise. 

The Hero Karizma XMR 210 was a good proposition when it was first launched. Even though it wasn’t able to recreate the same magic which the old Hero Karizma did back in the day with segment-leading performance, the XMR210 is still a capable bike on its own - for commuting and touring. 

Other than the addition of the inverted fork, the 2025 Karizma XMR 210 Top variant is the same as the Karizma XMR base variant mechanically. The bike is powered by the same 210cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which makes 25.5PS and 20.4Nm. The 2025 model gets a new 4.2-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity and related features such as call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation.
