Here’s five things you should know about Hero’s new 125cc scooter
Hero Motocorp ventured into new territory with the launch of its first 125cc scooter: the Destini 125. Here's five things you should know about Hero's newest scooter.

Its the most affordable 125cc scooter:
The base LX variant of the Destini 125 retails for Rs 54,650. That is Rs 1,016 cheaper than the current lowest priced 125cc scooter, the Suzuki Access 125 (Rs 55,666) and Rs 5,271 less than the Honda Activa 125 (Rs 59,921)(all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

It comes with an all-new motor:
This is the first time Hero MotoCorp has ventured into 125cc scooter territory and as such the 124.6cc air-cooled single cylinder motor is all new. It generates 8.8PS at 6750rpm and 10.2Nm at 5000rpm and comes mated to a CVT transmission.

It gets Hero's i3S start stop system:
Hero first introduced the i3S start stop system in their Splendor range of motorcycles. They have now retrofitted this patented technology into the Destini 125. In motorcycles, the technology switches of the engine when the bike is standstill and starts it when the clutch lever is pulled. In scooters, the engine switches off when the throttle position is left in closed position for five seconds. To start it you press the brake and accelerate a bit. This system is to save fuel in stop and go traffic.

It comes with premium features:
The Destini 125 gets a semi-digital instrument console. In addition to the analogue speedometer, the digital display shows the fuel gauge, tripmeter, service indicator and odometer. It gets an external fuel filler cap at the back which is accessible via the ignition slot. Hero's Integrated Braking System is standard though a front disc brake is not available even as an option. There are four metallic colour options: Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White.

It comes in two variants:
The base LX variant is priced at Rs 54,650. It gets silver trim on the bodywork and steel wheels. The top spec VX variant at Rs 57,500 is Rs 2,850 more expensive and gets chrome trim on the front apron, two-tone seat and alloy wheels with Ceat tubeless tyres.

- Im using Destini XTEC fromIm using Destini XTEC from last 1 month. It really good in terms of mileage which is around 50 and comfort but when it comes to performance it is not that good you are expecting from product of hero. You may feel vibration at higher RPM or at max speed and control not so good. I will recommend Destini only if you are using it for normal city ride of around 10-20km per day.Read More
