The Sporster now commands a Rs 12,000 premium over the previous asking price

  • The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 was updated to BS6 norms in March 2020.
  • It was earlier priced at Rs 9.26 lakh.
  • The bike is powered by a BS6-compliant 883cc, V-twin, air-cooled motor.

The recent price cut on the Street Rod may have led you to believe that Harleys were going to get cheaper, well at least until the two-wheeler industry got back on its feet. But that isn’t the case. The Milwaukee-based manufacturer has just bumped up the price of the BS6 Iron 883 to Rs 9,38,000, a premium of Rs 12,000 over the previous asking price of Rs 9,26,000 (both prices, ex-showroom).

The Iron 883 hails from Harley’s Sporster range and packs a 883cc, V-twin, air-cooled engine that belts out 70Nm of torque at 3500rpm. The motor nestles in a dual-cradle frame that employs a telescopic fork up front and twin preload adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The rest of the hardware includes disc brakes at both ends and a 19-inch front and a smaller 16-inch rear wheel setup.

In terms of styling, the Iron 883 adopts a neo-retro design language with a circular headlamp, peanut-shaped fuel tank, chopped fenders and a sporty riding posture courtesy of flat handlebars, a single seat and mid-set footpegs.

In a bid to push sales, Harley Davison was also offering doorstep delivery and test rides for customers. More information here
