Upcoming KTM 1390 Super Duke RR: Key Details Revealed

An even more aggressive, and brutal version of KTM’s most premium performance streetfighter is on its way

Quick Highlights

  • Around 8 to 10kg lighter than the standard 1390 Super Duke R

  • Gets a titanium Akrapovic exhaust, and lots of carbon-fibre parts

  • Expected to debut in early 2026

European homologation documents have revealed that Team Orange has been working on a limited-edition version of the KTM 1390 Super Duke R. It will be called the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR, and it is all set to become a more extreme version of the already brutal Super Duke R. Although the European homologation documents did not include any images of the bike, they still reveal some crucial details about it.

Just like the previous 1290 Super Duke RR, KTM seems to have followed the same formula for the 1390 as well. The Austrian brand has worked on making the bike 8 to 10kg lighter than the standard variant. This has been made possible by using lightweight carbon-fibre parts, a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system and possibly a lighter lithium-ion battery. Along with these changes, it is also possible that the bike gets lighter, carbon-fibre alloy wheels.

The RR uses the same 1,350cc V-twin motor making 190PS and 145Nm. This power-packed engine is essentially what makes the Super Duke such a hooligan to ride. Although KTM has not confirmed it yet, the RR could also reportedly get high-end WP Apex Pro suspension with electronic damping, which may take its already sharp handling to a higher level. The KTM 1390 Super Duke R is already one of the most aggressive-looking streetfighter motorcycles in the market, and the RR is expected to look even sharper. Since it will be a limited-edition motorcycle, only a small number will be produced. Now with Bajaj controlling KTM, it’s likely that a small batch may also be launched in India next year, some time after the global debut, which is expect to happen in early 2026.

The regular 1390 Super Duke R already costs around Rs 22.96 lakh (ex-showroom, pre-GST 2.0), so if the RR finds its way to our shores, it will definitely be on the expensive side. Overall, the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR is aimed at riders who want a more exclusive version of KTM’s flagship streetfighter. The lighter weight is just a byproduct at this point, especially considering how much more expensive it’s expected to be.

In a related development, the upcoming KTM RC450 was recently revealed, through Chinese homologation documents
