The Scrambler 400 XC packs in more kit than the X, but also costs considerably more. If you’re planning to buy one, read this

The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is the more rugged, off-road-ready variant of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X. The ex-showroom price of this bike is Rs 2,99,333. State road taxes and registration fees cause the final value to go up. Each state sets its own RTO rates; the same bike can cost tens of thousands more depending on where you register it. Here is how the numbers look across five major cities:
Delhi

Delhi turns out to be the most wallet-friendly city for this bike, with the on-road price settling at Rs 3,37,002. RTO charges here are Rs 23,946, the lowest among the five.
Kolkata

Next up is Kolkata, where the total calculation comes to Rs 3,42,989. RTO adds Rs 29,933 to the ex-showroom figure, and insurance stays fixed at Rs 13,723 as it does everywhere else.
Mumbai

Mumbai increases the overall price to Rs 3,48,975 on-road. The RTO component jumps to Rs 35,919 here, a fairly steep rise from Kolkata, with insurance unchanged at Rs 13,723.
Chennai

Chennai lands at the same figure as Mumbai: Rs 3,48,975 on-road, with the same RTO charge of Rs 35,919 and the same Rs 13,723 insurance.
Bangalore

Bangalore is by far the most expensive place to buy the Scrambler 400 XC, with an on-road price of Rs 3,72,861. RTO alone accounts for Rs 59,805. RTO charges are nearly two and a half times what Delhi charges. Thankfully, insurance holds steady at Rs 13,723.
Line up all five cities and the gap between the cheapest (Delhi) and the priciest (Bangalore) comes to almost Rs 36,000. The entire difference traces back to RTO tax rather than anything to do with the bike itself. Estimated monthly EMIs for the Scrambler 400 XC range between Rs 9,218 and Rs 10,218 across these cities. Note that these estimates assume an interest rate of 6%, though your actual payout will depend on your bank, down payment, and loan tenure.
Disclaimer: These on-road price figures are estimates generated using standard tax calculations. Final showroom quotes vary based on local dealer handling fees, optional accessories, and selected insurance add-ons. Contact your nearest Triumph dealership for an exact quote.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC User Reviews
- a true scrambler!I’ve the original 398cc displacement yellow XC what a great bike. Around the city, it is easy to manoeuvre and so tractable. Overtakes are buttery smooth in any gear. Being a single cylinder, highway performance when you’re cruising over 110kmph is a little buzzy especially if you sit at over 7000-7500 rpm. But this is as good as a single cylinder bike gets. Suspension gives you feedback but never lacks absorption. For riders with a short inseam, the saddle height may trouble them but riding tall bikes is a skill which anyone can learn and it just looks so so so pretty.Read More6 2
