The base Bonneville T4 costs about Rs 91,000 more than the cheapest Bullet. It justifies the premium with extremely good build quality, much more powerful and sophisticated engine and substantially more modern features.
Royal Enfield Bullet 350: Simple, Comfortable And Classic
The Bullet 350 looks much like the older Bullets. It has a round headlight, spoked wheels and a single-piece seat with a scooped-out rider section. The hand-painted pinstripes on the fuel tank is an age-old tradition, reserved for the higher variants. Our experts have found the build quality solid, with tight panel gaps and sturdy switchgear.
Features are kept basic. It has a halogen headlight, an analogue speedometer with a small digital display for the odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge and clock. There’s a USB port on the switchgear too. Smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation isn't standard.
The engine is a 349 cc, air-cooled unit that makes 20.2 PS and 27 Nm, paired with a five-speed gearbox. It focuses on low-end pull, so it is easy to ride in the city, and on the highway it is happiest at 80 to 90 kmph. The tank holds 13 litres, the tested real-world mileage is 37 kmpl, which is decent. The seat height is 805 mm, which is slightly on the taller side. At 195 kg, it feels heavy at a standstill, but it is manageable once moving.
Triumph Bonneville T40: More Power And More Features
The Bonneville T40 takes its design from the classic Bonnevilles of the 1960s. It has a teardrop fuel tank with rubber knee pads, a round LED headlight with a distinctive DRL signature, long mudguards, twin rear shocks, spoked wheels and a peashooter exhaust. The engine has machined fins that give it the look of an air-cooled motor. The overall look is surprisingly similar to the MUCH more expensive Triumph Bonneville T100, and we love it!
It is the much more modern bike underneath. It has LED lighting, a USB-C socket, multiple riding modes, and disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. The higher variants add a 4-inch circular TFT display with a Heritage mode that gives the screen an analogue-style look, along with smartphone connectivity, call and SMS alerts and proper Google Maps navigation. Even the base variant gets standard navigation (albeit turn-by-turn on a colour-LCD console). So as far as the features are concerned, the Bonneville is properly loaded.
The engine is a liquid-cooled, 350 cc unit that makes 29 PS and 31.2 Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. This is a sportier engine compared to the Bullet’s heart. The tank holds 14.5 litres, the seat height is 790 mm, and the kerb weight is 195 kg. The claimed mileage of the Triumph Bonneville T40 is 28.5kmpl.
BikeDekho Says
If you want a simple, relaxed retro bike at a lower price, the Bullet 350 is the better choice. It costs about Rs 91,000 less, offers a comfortable ride and a smooth, easy-going engine, and has offers a decent mileage too. We’d recommend the mid or the top variant as the base variant only gets a single-channel ABS with a rear drum brake.
If you want more performance and modern equipment, but still want a bike that looks the part of a retro machine, then the Bonneville T4 is worth the extra money. It’s a lot more feature-packed, especially the T40 and the T40 Black. If you’re on a budget, then the lower variant, the Bonneville T4 still makes for a good buy as it still manages to be more feature-packed than the top-end Bullet.
Royal Enfield Bullet 350 User Reviews
So, I have owned this bike for like 3 years now, and no major problem has been there. It works well, looks amazing, and has low maintenance cost, at least for me. But the only thing is that it’s more of a cruiser, so from a speed perspective, it kind of lacks. Overall, a solid choice, just like its name, it’s a Bullet.Read More
For the looks and its heaviness, it’s a happiness in my life. So good, heavy, stable, and safe bike. Other than those light bikes, its drive is very stable on the roads. If you want high-speed rides, then this bike is also the best option, bro. The ride is soo good, feels stable safe on this bike, maintenance is little costlier than other bikes, but the service and comfort is top notch and high power, and bike is really smooth and comfortable. Person with heavy body and decent hight should buy this bike, because its too heavy and on other hands, I would not recommend this bike to a person with very low income, its feel littel bit costly if your income is not enough to maintain this. Good for city traffic and once the bike is ridden for 3/4 kms, its more smoother and with rising fuel price, the bike provides a very good mileage compared to its rivals and in long journeys Royal Enfield is much more reliable. This bike never disappoint. Very positive experience. I have been riding it in city traffic and compared to other bikes, this bikes is way more smoother and easy to handle. Good riding posture, good fuel economy, even long rides are fun to have in a Royal Enfield. The bike is reliable and good build quality, good to ride and every one who has ridden one has never regretted and this bikes are like u have one and u can ride them for years without any issues. Iska design simple hone ke bawajood bhi kaafi royal aur premium lagta hai. Road par chalate waqt log automatically notice karte hain, jo ek alag hi confidence deta hai. Ab tak ka riding experience kaafi acha raha hai. Bullet 350 chalane ka feel alag hi hota hai, especially jab aap highway par ride karte ho.
