Suzuki Access 125: Explained In Images

The Suzuki Access 125 has been the default choice for buyers looking for a fuss-free 125cc family scooter. No wonder it is the best-seller, and what’s surprising is that it is also genuinely fun to ride. What’s more, Suzuki even added a TFT display and ABS (single-channel) to the mix, making it the most wholesome scooter in its segment. Here's a closer look frame by frame :

Styling

The design stays clean and understated rather than chasing sharp lines or loud graphics. In fact, there are quite a few retro elements such as the boxy headlight and circular chromed-out rear view mirrors, ensuring the scooter looks unique enough.

Details:

• You get sharper crease lines on the side panels, plus a tail light and indicator setup that slightly resembles the second-gen Suzuki Hayabusa.

• Five of the six variants get beige panelling on the inside of the apron, below the seat. While this looks premium, it is prone to getting dirty more easily than black panels.

• The floorboard is flat, and has enough room to plant your feet and a bag/backpack effortlessly. 

• Build quality feels solid. The metal side panels and mudguards give it a sturdy feel, and the tight panel gaps stay rattle-free on rough roads.

Colours

Suzuki spreads six colour options across the six variants, with the higher trims getting exclusive shades.

Details:

• Standard Edition comes in Pearl Grace White, Metallic Mat Black, and Metallic Mat Stellar Blue.

• Special Edition adds Solid Ice Green on top of those same three.

• Ride Connect and Ride Connect ABS get a unique Pearl Shiny Beige shade, while Ride Connect TFT and Ride Connect TFT ABS swap that out for their own exclusive Pearl Mat Aqua Silver.

• Our favourite is the Solid Ice Green as it looks elegant, bringing out the retro character of the scooter.

Engine And Performance

Power still comes from the same 124cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, making 8.42PS at 6,500rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. 

Details:

• It isn't the most powerful 125cc scooter out there, but its light weight and punchier tuning actually make it faster than its rivals. In our tests, it hit 0-40kmph in 3.39 seconds and 0-60kmph in 7.44 seconds, pulling ahead of other scooters we tested (Hero Destini 125, Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter 125).

• Suzuki Access 125 stays refined at every speed, and the light throttle response makes overtaking in city traffic genuinely easy.

• On the highway, it cruises comfortably at 80kmph with minimal vibration, and it can reach 95–100kmph without much effort. You might feel slight vibrations past 80kmph, but nothing bothersome.

• In our road test, the mileage was around 55kmpl in mixed conditions, which keeps it right on par with its rivals.

Features

The feature list offers a mix of genuinely useful additions alongside a couple of half-measures.

Details:

• The digital cluster covers all the basics like speed, fuel level, time, and real-time mileage. Stepping up to the Ride Connect Edition adds Bluetooth with navigation, call and SMS alerts, weather updates, and location tracking, though the app itself is a little slow. The TFT Edition swaps out the LCD screen for a vibrant color TFT display, but the information remains the same.

• Opening the seat or the side-hinged external fuel cap is simple using the multi-function key slot. There is also a USB Type-A charger above the left storage pocket on the apron, though it charges slower than a modern Type-C port. 

• There’s another open pocket on the right side too, but without the charging port.

• Under the seat, the 24.5-liter storage easily holds a half-face helmet or daily essentials. For extra convenience, you get two hooks (one fixed, one folding), and two bag pegs on the boot lip.

Underpinnings And Other Specifications

The Access rides on a steel underbone frame with telescopic fork and a single rear shock absorber. It runs on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels.

Details:

• Braking is via drums at both ends on the Standard Edition, while other variants get a front disc with either CBS or, on the two ABS variants, single-channel ABS. Note that the ABS variants skip the kick-starter. The front disc needs a firm pull to stop quickly, so using both brakes together works best for a sudden stop.

• At just 105-106kg depending on variant, the Access is one of the lighter scooters in its class, and that shows up as a tight turning radius and easy manoeuvrability in traffic.

• The 865mm long seat and low 773mm height make it easy to manage, while high handlebars keep you sitting upright. The front suspension handles bumps well, and while the rear feels a bit stiff on solo rides, it gets much smoother with a passenger on the back.

Summing up, the Access 125 doesn't try to reinvent itself, but rather offers a refined, well-rounded package, especially after the ABS updates. It’s got the lovable neutral looks, peppy performance, and ample convenience features, making it an extremely competent 125cc scooter.
